Sixty-nine years ago, three people had a dream, an idea for an educational project to benefit National City and young musicians. A committee was formed and from that idea, the Maytime Band Review was born. The first parade consisted of 12 bands, but during the next 55 years the parade grew in size and national recognition. Countless bands and thousands of spectators traveled to National City to experience the competitiveness of the Maytime Band Review. Sadly, in 2004 the band review committee decided to end this iconic parade.
